Before you compare

Will you upload or save my lists?

Comparison and TXT reading happen in your browser. Your lists are not sent to us or saved by this tool. Refreshing or closing the tab may clear them. Site hosting logs and optional usage analytics are separate; see Privacy.

Can I compare two Excel columns?

Yes. Copy one column at a time, with one item per line. There is no XLSX, CSV, or TSV file parser. Cells containing line breaks are not supported by this workflow. See the Excel guide.

Are 00123 and 123 the same?

No. Values remain strings. Leading zeros, long identifiers, punctuation and Unicode differences are preserved. Ignore case only applies JavaScript lowercase conversion.

Does a missing value tell me why it disappeared?

No. List difference only describes the inputs you provide. It cannot confirm identity, history, quantities, or the reason a value is missing.
